Is there a way I can use Chef Workstation to create droplets? I’ve found and tried to install digital_ocean knife plugin but I got an error (I also read that plugin isn’t supported anymore) So, is there another recommended way to create droplets with Chef?

Unfortunately that is the preferred method for creating droplets through Chef, you would need to augment with another solution if you want to manage creation/delete of DO resources.
