Question

How do I use Digital Ocean to host a mini private game server?

I am interested in put together a quick game server to test this Unity Asset = MMORPG KIT (2D/3D/Survival) Based on the tip from the developers of this asset, I could build the server with Unity 3D and I did just that. However, I am really clueless after that.

  • How do I upload this server app to a Digital Ocean droplet?
  • For a 20 players private game server, what plan and best OS should I choose?
  • How do I create a database for the game server using preferably SQLite?

Any tips will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time!

best,

Hey @TeachMeGameServer,

You are a lucky man! In their documentation, there is a section specifically for DigitalOcean. Take a look and let me know if that was helpful: https://suriyun-production.github.io/mmorpg-kit-docs/#/dedicates/digitalocean

Best, Dennis
